Using Postbox with OmniFocus Pro

Follow

Overview

A new OmniFocus Pro to-do can be created within Postbox by selecting some text and then:

  • selecting OmniFocus: Send to Inbox from a contextual menu

When you create a new OmniFocus Pro to-do within Postbox:

  • the message subject will become the to-do title
  • the message sender will be linked along with a link back to the original message
  • the selected text will be placed into the to-do body

The OmniFocus: Send to Inbox command can be found in the message body contextual menu.

  • the message subject will become the to-do title
  • the message sender will be linked along with a link back to the original message
  • the message text will be placed in the to-do body
  • attachments will be added to the to-do

Note: This integration only works with OmniFocus Pro, as the regular version of OmniFocus does not support AppleScript.

Troubleshooting

If Postbox cannot connect to OmniFocus, please check the permissions in macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Automation and make sure under Postbox.app that OmniFocus is selected.
