Who acquired Postbox?

Postbox has been acquired by eM Client, a leading email platform for Windows and macOS that provides a powerful, easy-to-use solution for managing emails, calendars, tasks, and more.

Why was Postbox sold to eM Client?

We chose eM Client to offer Postbox users access to more advanced features, a larger development team, and ongoing support through an established platform. eM Client’s strong track record of innovation and user-focused features made them the ideal choice for Postbox customers.

What is eM Client?

eM Client is an all-in-one platform designed for professionals, combining email, calendars, tasks, contacts, notes, and chat.

What new features does eM Client provide?

eM Client offers many features, including a built-in calendar, native Exchange support, AI-powered tools, Grammarly-compatible composition, PGP encryption, email snooze, delayed sending, undo send, built-in encryption, and much more.

Will eM Client work with the services I use (e.g., Gmail, Exchange, iCloud, Outlook)?

Yes! eM Client supports many services, including Gmail, Exchange, iCloud, and Outlook, making the transition from Postbox to eM Client seamless, no matter what service you use.

Is there an offer for Postbox users to transition to eM Client?

Yes, as a thank you for being a loyal Postbox customer, eM Client is offering an exclusive discount:

  • If you purchased Postbox on or after September 22nd, 2024, you’ll receive 100% off your one-time purchase or your first year of subscription to eM Client.
  • All other Postbox customers will receive 50% off their one-time purchase or first year of subscription to eM Client.

These offers are valid until December 31st, 2024, and apply to most eM Client packages (excluding Lifetime Upgrades and AI Add‑ons for one‑time purchases).

Update: We are extending the Postbox discount until January 31st, 2025!

Will my data be transferred to eM Client?

Certain data, such as purchase records and support accounts, will be automatically transferred to eM Client in accordance with each company's Privacy Policies. Clients in the EU under GDPR will need to opt-in to the eM Client newsletter to continue receiving updates.

Will I still be able to use Postbox?

Yes, your Postbox license will remain valid, and you can continue using the product as long as it is compatible with your system and email provider. However, Postbox will no longer be sold or developed further.

What happens to ongoing support and updates for Postbox?

Postbox will no longer receive new updates or features. However, support will be available until December 22, 2024, and the Postbox Help Center will remain online until December 22, 2025. Postbox, Inc. will cease operations on December 22, 2024.

What if I want to stay with Postbox?

You’re welcome to keep using Postbox, but please note that no further updates or developments will be made, and support will end on December 22, 2024. We encourage you to explore eM Client, which offers similar and many new features.

Can I still buy Postbox?

No, Postbox is no longer for sale. However, you can take advantage of the exclusive discount offer for Postbox users transitioning to eM Client.

Does my Postbox License apply to eM Client?

Your Postbox Lifetime License is valid for the Postbox product and will never expire. You can use Postbox for as long as you like, provided your operating system and email providers remain compatible.
eM Client is a different application and has a different licensing model. It supports both one-time purchases and subscription plans.

What if I purchased Postbox within the last 30 days?

If you purchased Postbox on or after September 22nd, 2024, you have two options:

  • Take advantage of the eM Client incentive (100% off a one-time purchase or your first year of subscription to eM Client) or
  • Request a full refund of your Postbox purchase on or before December 22nd, 2024.

Please note that you cannot choose both options. If you request a refund, you will no longer be eligible for the eM Client incentive. Similarly, if you upgrade to eM Client using the incentive, your Postbox purchase will be effectively transferred, and you will no longer qualify for a refund.
