Purchasing Postbox

  • What is the licensing model for Postbox 5?

When you purchase Postbox, you can use that version for as long as you like. This is true for every version of Postbox released.

New! - When you purchase Postbox 5, you'll also get access to all future releases of Postbox as well.

(This would not include new products and/or services released under a different name or platform.)

  • What does the release roadmap look like?

The new licensing model for Postbox 5 allows us to make changes to our release model as well. Since Postbox 5 customers will no longer be required to purchase future upgrades, the company can now move away from major releases that occur every few years. As such, any improvements made to Postbox 5 can now be released as they are developed vs. waiting for the next major version.

  • Are the licenses per user or per machine?

Postbox licenses are per user, so one license will cover any/all machine(s) you personally use, Mac or PC. If more than one person will be using Postbox, then additional copies can be purchased at a discount. Visit our Store and enter the desired quantity to see the discount.

  • How do I upgrade?

If you purchased Postbox on or after March 1st, 2016 (or a Lifetime License prior to July 31st, 2010), then you already have a Postbox 5 key and no additional purchase is necessary. Download and install Postbox 5, and all of your existing settings and license key will be used. That's it!

If you purchased Postbox before March 1st, 2016, then an upgrade purchase is required to use Postbox 5. For a limited time, previous Postbox customers can upgrade at a discount. Request a discount code through our automated system.

  • How do I know what I previously purchased?

Not sure when you purchased, or if your previous license is Lifetime? Visit our License Retrieval page and we'll send you the details from your purchase. We'll send you the version number of your purchase along with the purchase data.

Note: If you purchased a Lifetime License prior to July 2010, the email you receive will include "Lifetime" as the version number.

Unmodified Mozilla add-ons do not work within Postbox at this time. Developers of existing Mozilla add-ons need to port their add-ons to Postbox. Sometimes this can be as simple as changing a few parameters, such as product, version, etc. Other times the porting effort may be more complex.

  • What if I don't see my favorite add-on listed?

We work with extension developers as much as possible, but if there's a particular add-on that you really like, we suggest contacting the add-on developer directly to request Postbox support.
