Already a Postbox customer?  Here's how to upgrade to Postbox 3:

If you have a Postbox Lifetime Upgrades License, then simply enter your license key into Postbox 3 and you're all set!  There's nothing you need to purchase.

If you purchased from the Postbox Store on or after August 15th, 2011, then you already have a Postbox 3 license key!  Simply download the new version from our website (the trial) and Postbox 3 will use your existing license key, mail settings, etc.  There's nothing more to set up!

If you purchased from the Postbox Store before August 15th, 2011, then you are eligible to upgrade to Postbox 3 for only $9.95.  Visit the Postbox Store and enter your Postbox 1.x or Postbox 2.x license key during checkout.  Next, download the trial version of Postbox from our website and enter your new license key. Postbox 3 will use your existing email settings, so you should be good to go.

Information for Mac App Store Customers

The Mac App Store enables customers to receive free "updates" within a product version. For example, customers received new features, styling, and performance enhancements in the free update from Postbox 2.1.4 to Postbox 2.5.

However, the Mac App Store does not provide existing customers with a way to "upgrade" to new a product, such as Postbox 3.0, either at a discount or for free if purchased within a specific timeframe.

To avoid confusion, the full version of Postbox 3 will not be made available in the Mac App Store until Apple implements upgrade capabilities.

If you purchased Postbox 2 from the Mac App Store and would like to upgrade to Postbox 3, you can:

  • wait for the Mac App Store to support new product upgrades, at which time Postbox 3 will be made available the Mac App Store
  • if you do not wish to wait, you can visit the Postbox Store to purchase an upgrade for only $9.95 (see our website for details)
Note: The version of Postbox sold through through the Mac App Store has less features due to Apple's application guidelines.  The version of Postbox sold through the Postbox Store contains support for Add-Ons, in addition to integration with iCal, iPhoto, and other Mac applications.
