The Inspector is your discovery engine for message content!

The Inspector Pane neatly summarizes content detected within messages and conversations, and provides a set of actions to help you intuitively use this content.

Message Inspector Search for files and images during message composition!

Open or close the Inspector Pane by clicking the toggle on the bottom right in the status bar, or by doing View | Layout | Inspector Pane.

The Inspector Pane will first summarize any known information about the sender, including profile picture, name, title and company.

Search for messages, attachments and images from this sender by clicking one of the search buttons below the profile. Search results will conveniently open in a new tab.

Content detected within the message body will display below the search buttons. Right click an item to display a set of actions that can be performed on the content. Some content elements, such as attachment and images, can be dragged and dropped to the desktop or into new messages.

Quick Look Mac Tip! - If you're on the Mac, you can preview your search results using Quick Look by pressing the spacebar.

To open the Inspector Pane, do one of the following:

  • Go to View | Show | Inspector Pane
  • Add the Inspector Pane toolbar button
  • Press Command + Shift + I (Mac) or Control + Shift + I (Windows)
